CYCLING NEWS

SATURDAY AM "FINISH LINE"

For those who are regular participants in the 6:15AM ride on Saturdays, you may have noted that the group is getting bigger and riding very well.  It has been suggested that for the conclusion of the fast part of the ride (notice that I'm avoiding saying "end of the race" as it is not a Race), participants use the Aberfeldy sign on The Lane and cool down along East Broadway and Front Street.

2 YEAR OLD BURGERS FOR ALL

Bicycle Works extends an invation to all BBA members to a BBQ at the shop (13 Tumkins Lane) to mark their second anniversary.  Party starts at 6:30PM and goes until ......

RACING MATTERS

SOUTHSIDE ROAD RACE THIS SUNDAY

Rumor has it that the race at Southside on Sunday was possibly the largest road race in Bermuda in the last 4 centuries.  Congrats to race directors Tab Froud, Pam Froud, Phil Trussell and Nick Greet on organizing a great event that ran smoothly and on time.  All categories saw high competition and full results are below.

Road Race Series #4 - May 17

SINCLAIR PACKWOOD MEMORIAL RACE

All invitations have gone out to riders for this event.  Didn't get one but expected one?  Immediately contact info@bermudabicycle.org.  No one will start the race if not registered.

For those who received an invitation you need to put your completed form in to the BBA box at either Winners Edge or Bicycle Works by close of business Wednesday, May 20th (that is today!) or sit on the sidelines come Monday.

We require a few helpers for the finish area of this race.  There will be marshals at the intersections with Cedar Avenue plus finish line crew.  If you want to see the conclusion from inside the ropes without having to camp out from Thursday evening then email info@bermudabicycle.org or call 799-8614.  Glory awaits those who assist!

SPONSOR

This event is again being sponsored by Jim & Debbie Butterfield and race numbers will carry the Butterfield & Valis name in recognition of this generous support.

Picture of the week

The Junior A field looked strong on Sunday and the competition was fierce.  Here the main contenders of (left to right) Justin, Marquis, Tre-Shun, Dominique, Ryan and Mark drive the pace along the flat.  Great race for all of them.
