CYCLING NEWS

JUNIOR CARIBBEAN CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009 - BERMUDA

Just over a week from now we will be welcoming over 70 riders and support personnel for the Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships.  This is a great honor for us to host this event and we are asking all BBA members, friends and family to come out and support the event.  We require 150 volunteers for the time trial that Nigel Godfrey is organizing.  Please let Nigel know where you could help him that morning (ngodfrey@ibl.bm).

The road race will use the Hamilton course we ran for the Bermuda Grand Prix last year, including Corkscrew Hill.  Jeff and Martin are getting this organized and support within this closed circuit will also be needed.

This is a major undertaking and will require the assistance of all BBA members and friends.  Please support this BBA event as best as you can.

JUNIOR CAMP UPDATE

Thanks to Geri Mewett and Brad Spears for organizing and running the junior camp this year. Geri is already working on plans for next year to regain the bigger numbers we've had in the past.

RACING MATTERS

SOUTHSIDE ROAD RACE RESULTS

Rodney Davies and Kevin Topple organized an interesting course for Sunday's road race that was an opportunity for the red and black clad group to torture some of us at the back of the field.  If you are interested in a few finish line shots check out www.rodsfod.com/Cycling/MaleATop6RoadraceJuly122009.JPG Full results are below.  Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make the race safe and enjoyable.
