CYCLING NEWS

TOKIO YOUTH MTB SERIES STARTS THIS SATURDAY

The first of the 2009/10 Tokio Youth Mountain biking Series is at 4:00 this Saturday afternoon at the Arboretum.  Please spread the word to your friends, colleagues and neighbors who have children in primary school.  The organizers are happy to have older children attend and participate as well.  The events include some skills work and age group races.  As in the past there will be a raffle at the end of the series for a new bike and each time a child participates his/her name will be entered in the draw.  The more you attend, the better your chances of winning.  The draw is at the last event on January 30th.  Thanks to Tokio Millennium Re for their sponsorship and all of the volunteers they provide.  If you would like to come out an assist Ed Jordan then please do so.  Volunteers should arrive at the Arboretum by 3:30PM.

SUNDAY MTB RIDE - MYSTERY DESTINATION

The group MTB ride will depart from the Flagpole on Front St. at 8:00AM and head to ....... who knows?  Destination to be determined by the will of the people.  Show up, ride hard, then take a nap.

RACING MATTERS

SHELLY BAY TIME TRIAL FINALE

One more TT left for the year, this Sunday on the Shelly Bay course.  Come out for the 7:30 start (get there early to sign in) and set a time to show your progress this year.  Thanks to John Whale for all his work in organizing all nine of the TT's this year.

CONRAD'S MTB SEASON IS UPON US!

Thanks to Jeff and Charles for their continued support of the mountain biking season with their sponsorship of the race series.  There are seven races in the the series utilizing Ft. Scaur, Hog Bay, Admiralty House and Ferry Reach.  The series registration should be done in advance (though there are single race entries available before each event) and dropped in the BBA box at either Bicycle Works or Winners Edge.  Grant "Chelsea" Goudge is the coordinator of the mountain biking season so we extend our thanks to him for the work he has put into crafting a challenging season.  Series rules and the pre-paid form are below.
